Is Affiliate Marketing Still Profitable?

Affiliate marketing is one of the best methods for making money online. It is the method that I made my first dollar in quite a few years ago. Every year one question gets asked about affiliate marketing over and over, Is Affiliate Marketing Still Profitable?

Yes, Affiliate marketing is still a profitable business model. It’s not unusual for you to have this question, I too had the same question when I first started in affiliate marketing. So, it’s totally normal. After all, a business needs to be profitable in the end.

Hopefully, this post will be of help to you as a beginner or someone who has done affiliate marketing but without much results. I will also show you my secret place (Not really a secret if you have read my other posts lol) I hang out at where I network with fellow affiliate marketers. Does Affiliate marketing work in 2021? Check If You Are Following These 5 Key Points

Affiliate marketing is profitable in 2021 and will be profitable for the foreseeable future.

Guys, keep in mind that affiliate marketing isn’t a new concept. It has been around for many years. In fact, it has been around since 1996.

One major reason for people to fail at affiliate marketing is because they are learning from an affiliate marketer or a guru.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t learn from an affiliate marketer or a guru. It’s just that in this industry not all affiliate marketers or gurus are genuine. Not all of them teach you the current methods and techniques that work. Most of them are trying to sell their course that cost $1000’s.

Selling something that works and meets the needs of the consumer is perfectly fine. After all, that is the goal of an affiliate marketer. But not all of them promote products that work or up to date.

In short, If you bought a course from the internet from a guy claiming that you can make $9802 within a couple of weeks, then you have been scammed. Following a course like this or a guru that have exaggerated claims like this is one of the major reasons people fail in affiliate marketing.

In this industry, there is so much misinformation. A good majority of them are there to make a quick buck. This is why 95% of affiliate marketers fail and the other 5% make 6-figure or 7-figure incomes.

Number 1 thing I recommend if you want to build a profitable affiliate marketing business is to find a course that is genuine and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Let’s say you know how to do affiliate marketing but still there are 5 key points that decide if you are going to be successful in affiliate marketing or not.

1. Persistence – Affiliate marketing takes time to show results. When it does it pays back for all your hard work. If you aren’t in it for the long journey, then it is not for you

2. Be a Helper – I can’t emphasize this enough. You have to help people. Don’t think yourself as an affiliate marketer. Don’t choose products that pay you the highest commission. Instead, choose the best product or service that solve their problems.

3. Learn – Just like learning to play the guitar, affiliate marketing requires knowledge. Things like keyword research, SEO or Social media marketing can’t be mastered in a day. But, you can absolutely make money while you learn.

4. Take Action – What you learn isn’t going to do anything if you don’t apply it to your business. Apply what you learn.

5. Be Consistent – Once you know the formula to succeed, keep at it till you make it. If you do everything right there’s no reason why you won’t succeed in affiliate marketing.

Is Affiliate Marketing Saturated?

This question directly relates to, “Is it hard to do affiliate marketing?”. I mean if you are wondering about saturation then this is the underlying question in your mind.

Affiliate marketing is easy to learn but any business requires work to be profitable.

Without your hard work and sweat, you aren’t going to make it in any business, let alone affiliate marketing.

Let me tell you something about saturation. It is not that all bad. If a niche is saturated that means that the market is profitable. Yeah, it might take time to succeed in a niche like let’s say, weight loss. But it isn’t impossible. If you get to the top of a saturated niche it will payback for all your efforts ten-fold.

The thing is there are thousands of niches and not all of them have fierce competition. To find these you have to do some digging. You won’t find a gold mine of a niche without any competition. In business, you have to learn to welcome the competition.

I remember the Shopify-eCommerce business model took off a few years back. E-Commerce wasn’t anything new, but new software and marketplaces like Aliexpress brought in a lot of people to E-Commerce. After 1 or 2 years later, some of the first people who joined stopped making money and stopped doing E-Commerce. Does that mean E-Commerce is dead or not profitable?

No, It just dropped all the lazy people who are in for quick easy money. People who put in the time to make their business better, learn and adapt to changes will continue to grow and continue to make more money.

To show that affiliate marketing is not dead and it continues to grow with no signs of stopping, here are some stats for you

  • Affiliate marketing is a $12 billion dollar industry.
  • 81% of global brands have affiliate programs
  • Affiliate marketing is suitable for all ages
